CSA season is here! Among the bounty were quarts of strawberries that begged to be eaten mostly unadorned out of their little green boxes. A few made their way to the breakfast table where they were served with billows of farm fresh cream. Enjoy!
Strawberries and Cream
1 quart fresh picked strawberries, tops removed and berry sliced
1/2 of a lemon, juiced
1 cup of cream
Pinch of cinnamon
1 t vanilla
1 TBS maple syrup
Prep berries toss lightly with lemon juice and divide into serving bowls.
Whip cream with a mixer or blender until soft peaks form. Be careful not to over mix and make butter! Fold in vanilla, syrup, and cinnamon.
Give a generous dollop to each serving.
